To sustain campus efforts toward meeting the new Title II digital accessibility requirements, Student Accessibility Services is now accepting applications to fund digital accessibility projects for faculty, staff, divisions/departments/offices, and student organizations. Eligible projects include but are not limited to the following areas: software applications and tools for accessibility testing and/or digital content remediation; professional remediation of high-impact, complex, or frequently used digital content (ex. audio description for a widely used program orientation video); WCAG 2.2 AA-compliant replacement software for inaccessible third-party software applications (some restrictions may apply; discipline- or content-specific digital accessibility training and/or professional development resources not otherwise offered to the Brockport community; and resources for digital accessibility awareness-raising campaigns and events. Award decisions will be based on meeting the goals of the above guidelines and demonstrating the potential to successfully implement funding to maximum effect. Programs, trainings, and professional development opportunities may be targeted to specific groups on campus, but funds must be used in a manner that sustains and maximizes benefit to SUNY Brockport’s ongoing efforts for ADA Title II digital accessibility compliance. Applications must be received by November 15, 2025 for first consideration. Applications received after November 15, 2025 and prior to March 15, 2026 will be considered for any remaining funds. All procurements must take place before May 1, 2026 to be eligible for this year’s funding. Awardees must write a brief report on how the funds were used by June 30, 2026. Receipt of the 2025-2026 award does not guarantee additional awards in subsequent years or permanent funding for renewals. Awardees are responsible for following any and all relevant University procedures and policies, including those pertaining to procurement, BITS software review, speaker contracts, travel, student travel, catering, room reservations, etc. Student Accessibility Services is not available to provide administrative support for the above.
