Faculty and Friends Emergency Fund Application Form

  • The English Department Faculty and Friends Emergency Fund was established to support students in the Department of English who experience a financial need that is unmet from other sources. The purpose of this fund is to assist in unexpected, one-time expenses that may prohibit students from attending class. It provides one-time grants (up to $300) to English majors and graduate students in need. This is a grant, not a loan; it does not need to be paid back.

    Eligibility and Criteria:
    • Students must major in English, English Adolescence Education, or English Adolescence Inclusive Education and have completed at least one academic semester at SUNY Brockport.
    • Some examples for why this fund may be utilized include, but are not exclusive to: Vehicle repair, utility bill(s), rent, emergency childcare, groceries, textbooks or other essential educational resources

    Students requiring greater assistance are encouraged to consult the EagleCares Center.
