The Leland B. Yeager Reading Group is a competitive opportunity for sophomores, juniors, and seniors at Brockport interested in political economy. The reading group meets for one hour each week and is worth one credit hour of course credit. The book is provided free of charge for accepted students thanks to a generous grant from the Institute for Humane Studies. The LBY Reading Group is an excellent way to hone critical thinking skills and explore interesting topics in social science in a safe discussion environment with other students. In Spring 2022, we'll be reading the book Give People Money: How a universal basic income would end poverty, revolutionize work, and remake the world. We also may discuss some additional readings from various perspectives that address topics related to our main book. Students who successfully complete the reading group will receive a certificate at the end of the semester, and are invited to apply for a second semester.
